Also tested what the application needs like profile management, USB device pass-through, how to get files to and from the app, how the application gets updated, downtime needs, backup needs, etc. Made sure to do testing on site, remote connection and in low bandwidth situations under a normal load of test users to measure performance. Does it need specific video graphics hardware or settings, how does it handle citrix display settings, buffer issues, HDX settings, what are the normal and max loads each app server can handle with the needed user load, etc? After all the DEV work we found some of the software could be apart of the main farms while others needed to be separate farms / deliver groups due to different policies needed and resource requirements. We started out with a separate delivery group and PVS collection during the DEV phase just to see how it would work as well as finding out the resource balance. The larger companies normally have something ( scottbrindley linked to the AutoCAD one above).

Spoke with the software manufacturer getting their Citrix requirements and best practices. Start out larger and in a test delivery group if you have no idea at first. Not sure about engines like AutoCAD, but this is what we did below.

We had a some needs for larger Adobe products like Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
